Easy Peppermint Toppers
How to Make Easy Peppermint Bows for the Holidays
This weekend I hosted a little early holiday get together with all of my closest friends. I felt so inspired to plan the next one and make these peppermint bows immediately after as a tester for future dinner parties.
These peppermint bows are not only adorable but also easy to make with just a few ingredients. Perfect for topping gifts, decorating desserts, or simply enjoying as a sweet snack, this recipe will be a hit for your next party.
Ingredients:
16 small peppermint sticks
Instructions:
Prepare Your Oven
Preheat your oven to 215°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.Position the Peppermint Sticks
Place two peppermint sticks on the baking sheet, directly across from each other. These will form the base of your bow.Heat in the Oven
Bake the peppermint sticks in the oven for 10 minutes. They should be warm and pliable when you remove them.Create the Bow Shape
Quickly press the warm peppermint sticks together at the center to stick them together.
Gently bend the ends of the sticks into a bow shape.
Add the Bow Center
Take an additional peppermint stick, crush it into smaller pieces, and place some in the center of your bow.
Return the bow to the oven for 5 more minutes to soften the center.
Finish the Bow
While the peppermint is still warm, press and shape the crushed pieces into the center of the bow. Be sure to work quickly, as the peppermint cools and hardens fast.
Pro Tips:
Ensure your oven is properly preheated to 215°F. A hot oven is key to keeping the peppermint pliable.
Work quickly when handling the peppermint sticks, as they cool and harden within seconds. If they cool - pop em back in the oven for 5 minutes.
Use parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to avoid sticking.
