Beautiful Marshmallow Flowers

This recipe is perfect for creating beautiful marshmallow flowers for hot chocolate, cupcake toppers, and more. It takes about 5-10 minutes to prep and 40 mins in the oven and is a great activity to do with children or friends.

Ingredients & Materials:

  • 1 package of jumbo marshmallows

  • Hazelnuts (one per flower)

  • Parchment paper

  • Baking sheet

  • Airtight container (for storage)

Instructions:

  1. Cut the Marshmallows:
Take each jumbo marshmallow and cut it into 5 slices (4 cuts total). Each slice will form a “petal.”

  2. Flatten the Petals:
Lay the slices on a sheet of parchment paper and press them gently to flatten. Arrange them to form a flower shape, then place a single hazelnut in the center of each flower.

  3. Dry in the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 200°F (95°C).
Place the marshmallow flowers on a parchment-lined baking sheet and dry them in the oven for about 40 minutes.
They’ll become meringue-like, crisp, and hold their shape once cooled.

  4. Storage:
If you’re not using them right away, store the dried marshmallow flowers in an airtight container. Keep them away from moisture to maintain their crisp texture. Exposure to humidity will make them soften again.

Use them to top hot cocoa, cupcakes, or cake decorations. They’ll add a sweet, decorative touch with minimal effort!

With Love,

Cristina
